Dawson Creek swimmer, Robin O’Reilly, medals at the Canada 55+ Games.

The pandemic took her away from swimming for two years.

“I just started back up this February.”

She has just returned from her first time competing at the Canada 55+ Games in

Kamloops, BC with three gold medals: 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle.

These Games are held every two years with Quebec hosting the 2024 Canada 55+ Games. Since 2001 she has competed annually at the BC 55+ Games, bringing home a medal in each of her 6 individual races as well as 2 relays. This leads to a rough estimate of more than 160 medals.

“They aren’t all gold, but I have a medal from every race.”

She’s headed to the 2022 BC 55+ Games in Victoria starting Sept. 13. In some odd symmetry, O’Reilly has been a resident of Mile Zero for fifty-five plus years.
