IHIT investigating after woman found bleeding on Maple Ridge street, later dies

On Sunday afternoon, police received reports of an injured woman bleeding in public.

A woman was observed with serious injuries on Sunday, near 232 Street and 132 Avenue in Maple Ridge. She died at the scene, police say.

B.C.’s homicide squad is investigating the death of a woman in Maple Ridge on Sunday afternoon. 

Police are advising there is no threat to public safety and there is an ongoing investigation. 

A woman was seen bleeding near 232 Street and 132 Avenue at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Police say she sustained serious injuries. 

Paramedics and firefighters also responded and attempted life-saving measures, but the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene at 3:25 p.m. 

Ridge Meadows RCMP's serious crime unit attended and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken conduct of the investigation. 

Police did not release any further details about the woman or if next of kin has been notified. It’s not clear what injuries the woman suffered.
