New West police say missing man 'could be anywhere' in B.C.

Have you seen Oscar Reyes Lavacude? He's hasn't been seen or heard from since Dec. 9.

It's possible that a man missing out of New Westminster "could be anywhere in the province."

That's what New West police (NWPD) believe is the case for Oscar Reyes Lavacude, who reported missing by the local department today, Dec. 15.

According to officers, Reyes Lavacude was last seen or heard by family on Dec. 9 and the public is now being asked to help find him.

"Mr. Reyes Lavacude’s family is growing concerned for his well-being and they are desperately wanting to hear from him," said NWPD spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Leaver in a news release.

Weaver explained Reyes Lavacude is known to use ride shares, specifically Uber, resulting in his location being narrowed to "anywhere" in B.C.

As well, he's likely travelling with a blue carry-on suitcase.

Reyes Lavacude is described as:

  • Hispanic
  • 6'1"
  • Slim build
  • Black hair
  • Brown eyes
  • May have a beard
  • May have scars on his hands

Anyone with more information on Reyes Lavacude or his whereabouts is encouraged to call 911 immediately or the NWPD at 604-525-5411.
