More than 78% of British Columbians are vaccinated against COVID-19

There have been 46 new cases of COVID-19 since yesterday, but no new deaths to report and no new outbreaks at hospitals or long-term care homes.

There are currently 602 active cases in B.C., with 87 people in hospital and 22 patients in intensive care. A total of 145,420 people who tested positive since the pandemic began have recovered.

As of Tuesday, July 6, 78.1% (3,618,865) of British Columbians 12 and older have been vaccinated, with 37% (1,714,394) now fully vaccinated with two doses.

There are currently active outbreaks in the following long-term care homes or hospitals: Laurel Place in the Fraser Health region, Rotary Manor Dawson Creek, Eagle Ridge Hospital, Royal Inland Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital.

To date, 5,340,256 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna or AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.
