B.C. grandma missing after vehicle found on washed out road

She was last seen on Oct. 25 just after 10 a.m.

A B.C. family is searching for their grandmother after her vehicle was found on a washed out road near Harrison Lake.

Jane Whitehouse, 82, was reported missing on Oct. 25. The last time she was seen was at 10:10 a.m. in Aldergrove.

Langley RCMP believed she was driving in a grey Dodge Grand Caravan with the license plate CP6 01A and confirm the van has been found.

A photograph recently posted to social media shows the same vehicle stuck along a washed out forest service road known as Harrison East Forest Service Road. The road is a 22 kilometres long and runs along the east side of Harrison Lake.

Albert Fuchs shared the photo on Sunday asking if anyone recognized the van.

“Road is eroding away, steep bank,” said Fuchs. “Police have been notified with the exact location.”

Huong Nguyen, a family member of the missing woman, confirmed to Glacier Media the vehicle in the photograph was Whitehouse’s van.

The area where the van was found is more than 80 kilometres away from where she was last seen.

Kent Harrison Search and Rescue members, along with Agassiz RCMP, are now searching the area for Whitehouse.

"They worked till about 6 or 7 p.m. last night,” said Nguyen.

Whitehouse was wearing a green jacket when she went missing. She is five feet one inch tall, weighs 63 kilograms (140 pounds), and has a medium build with grey-blonde hair.

Anyone with information about her or her whereabouts is asked to contact police.
