The Hike for Hospice celebration took place on May 27 in downtown Squamish.
People gathered at Junction Park and O'Siyam Pavilion with music, food and games to celebrate a month-long volunteering event raising awareness and funds for the Sea to Sky Hospice Society.
The Squamish-based society offers “compassionate care to those facing life limiting illness or those experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one,” Leslie de Bie, executive director of the Sea to Sky Hospice Society, told The Squamish Chief in an email prior to the May 27 event.
“We are not funded by the government and rely on our fundraising initiatives and donations to support these services.”
The goal this year was to raise $40,000.
