One of the most popular travel guide publishers in the world has produced a short list of the top destinations to visit in 2023 — and one Canadian province made the cut.
With awe-inspiring natural vistas, complete with "candy-striped lighthouses, salty fishing towns, and towering red cliffs," Lonely Planet has included Nova Scotia on a list of only 30 destinations across the globe to visit next year.
While there are several amazing places to explore travel in Canada, the maritime gem offers its own rugged beauty, complete with sleepy seaside villages. The report authors note that the best way to experience the destination is to journey through the postcard-perfect communities, on routes like the breathtaking Cabot Trail.
"Most adventures begin in seaside Halifax, followed by a jaunt to postcard-perfect Peggy's Cove and Unesco-listed Lunenburg. Further afield, the vineyards of the Annapolis Valley beckon, along with the wild coastline of Cape Breton, the lakes and forests of Kejimkujik National Park and the incredible tides of the Bay of Fundy," they write.
