Fans of the City of Angels can cruise into the star-studded metropolis in style at a steal from Vancouver this fall.
Princess Cruises, known for its elegant, innovative ships, attentive service, and impressive onboard entertainment, has a few low-cost Pacific Coastal sailings departing from Canada Place bound for Los Angeles in September and October.
Following a busy Alaskan cruise season, the coastal sailings reposition ships down to California for the late fall and winter, where they typically sail down to Mexico and Central America.
Pacific Coastal cruises are typically shorter, ranging from three to five or six days. However, they are a few that are only one night or as many as 10.
A cruise on the Majestic Princess that sails from Canada Place on Oct. 3 offers the best deal to Los Angeles from Vancouver this year. The five-night sailing only has one stop along the way in Victoria, where it drops passengers off first thing in the morning and collects them by 2 p.m. After spending a couple of days at sea, travellers will overnight in Los Angeles before disembarking on Oct. 8.

LA cruise from Vancouver with Princess Cruises
The total for two guests in an interior stateroom is $1,203.80 or $601.90 per person. This price works out to a per diem cost of $120.38 for the five-night sailing.
Not only does that cost include your transportation on a beautiful five-star vessel, but it also includes meals, entertainment, snacks, and lodging. The only thing it doesn’t factor in is alcohol, but you may opt to purchase a drink package that can reduce the cost of your spending.
The cruise ship is the five-star Majestic Princess, which offers swimming pools, hot tubs, a live theatre, a basketball court, mini-golf, renowned spa treatments, movies under the stars, a jogging track, and much more.
The lead-in staterooms feature two twin beds or a queen-size bed. Other amenities include a refrigerator, hair dryer, TV, closet, and bathroom with shower.
Travellers will likely need to buy a one-way airline ticket back to Vancouver to Los Angeles once the cruise ends. Flair Airlines offers the route starting for as little as $58 including all taxes and fees.
