Some lucky Vancouver locals caught sight of a dazzling aurora borealis dancing across the sky Friday night (Aug. 4).
Onlookers shared snaps of stunning hues of pink, purple, and green. The lights were visible across B.C. with high auroral activity observed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
"This was probably the strongest aurora display I've witnessed over the Vancouver area, but it was also a quick one," a local tells V.I.A. "To the naked eye, the shape and movement of the aurora was clearly visible, but the colours were not. While our eyes aren't very good at seeing colour in the dark, cameras are!"
