It is with great sadness and deepest regrets that we announce the loss of our mother Joan Elaine Hainer (nee Kerr, Triska) on June 5th, 2022 in West Vancouver, BC. She leaves behind her son Robert Kerr, his wife Karen and grandchildren Katie, Ashley and Emily and her daughter Melanie Armstrong, her husband Adrian and grandchildren Emalyn and Rylan, her sister Carol, brother Gerry and her companion Glen. Joan made connections with people wherever she went with her laughter and music and she will be missed by so many.
Joan was born in Vegreville, AB and was a well-loved primary, music and drama teacher for 30 years in Edmonton before moving to Squamish, BC to be with her daughter and grandchildren. Most recently she has enjoyed spending time with her friends and companion Glen in both Squamish and Yuma.
Wherever she went she was known for her joyful, loving spirit and her love of music. She also found great joy and solace in being out in nature, especially by a lake or by the ocean.
