It is with great sadness that the Wittman family announces the passing of their Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, Doreen Alice Wittman.
Doreen is resting in ever-lasting peace with her husband Arthur, and that brings the family comfort.
Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her children Denise (Lyle) Hanson, Victoria (Brian) Marchant, Rhonda (Christiane Armstrong) Wittman and Craig (Sandra) Wittman, grandchildren, Eric, Craig and Cally Hanson, Jennifer (Marchant) Foreman and Brianne (Wittman) Messenger, one great-grandson Damon Hanson.
She is predeceased by her husband Arthur, granddaughter, Jamie-Lyn Marchant and great-grandson, Dean Hanson.
Doreen and Arthur were married on June 11, 1955, in Winnipeg.
At the ages of 29 (Doreen) and 30 (Arthur), loaded up their 1957 Buick with their four children and headed for B.C. to see what Squamish had to offer.
They immediately fell in love with the quaint, peaceful, small-town vibe.
Squamish was the place they were happy to call home for the next 50-plus years.
Doreen began working at Overwaitea Foods in July of 1968, and for over 30 years, she was dedicated to her job.
She enjoyed meeting new people and conversing with the old-timers.
Doreen was happiest when she had her children & grandchildren around.
Doreen will be remembered for her kind spirit, sassy humour and cheerful smile.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Strydom for her guidance and to the staff at Hilltop House for their care & kindness.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
Mom, you will remain precious in our thoughts and memories.
