Three Squamish youth have made a big difference with a little plot of land.
Raven's Plateau residents Nyrin Woelfle, 14, Victoria Shaw, 11, and Alexandra Shaw, 9, collected $215 from neighbours and used the money to buy dirt, mulch and plants — perennials — to give life to the sign at the entrance to their neighbourhood.
Previously, the area was so overgrown that you could almost not see the sign.
They have solar lights and collected dozens of river rocks to add structure and light to the landscaping.
The youth have a little money left over, so may add a bit more to it, they said.
