As the holiday season kicks into high gear, many are wondering which businesses are staying open for last-minute shoppers and diners and which are taking a well-deserved break. Here’s a rundown of holiday hours for some local establishments on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

  • Save-On-Foods: Open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve but closed on Christmas Day.
  • Nester’s Market: Doors will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, but the store will remain closed for Christmas Day.
  • Hector's Your Independent Grocer: Open on Christmas Eve until 7 p.m. Closed tomorrow for Christmas Day.
  • Walmart: Operating until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, but the doors will be shut for Christmas Day.
  • Subway: Craving a sandwich on Christmas Eve? Subway will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. but will close its doors on Christmas Day.
  • Flipside Burgers: Firing up the grill until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve but closed on Christmas Day.
  • Shady Tree: Open on Christmas Eve until 9 p.m. The restaurant will be closed on Christmas Day.
  • Dollarama: Closing at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The store will remain closed on Christmas Day.
  • Shoppers Drugmart: Open until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve but operating on reduced hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Day.
  • London Drugs Pharmacy: Open until 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve but will be closed for Christmas Day.
  • Garibaldi Pharmacy: Closed Christmas Day.

Plan ahead

If you’re hoping to squeeze in some last-minute shopping or grab a bite to eat, be sure to plan accordingly, as most places will be closing early on Christmas Eve and remaining closed on Christmas Day.
