Covered in snow, Squamish looks like the inside of a snow globe. Locals in downtown Squamish woke up to 49 centimetres of the white stuff on Sunday morning, according to meteorologist Jason Ross.
Local John Buchanan captured this drone photo of the Squamish oceanfront, on Feb. 26, after the heavy snowfall.
Though not much information has been available to local media about the timeline and current state of the Oceanfront Squamish project by developer Matthews West, the company's Taylor Wood did recently tell The Squamish Chief that Phase A — earthworks — for the Sp’akw’us Feather park construction is now complete.
"Phase B — landscaping — is now underway," Wood said, in an email in early February.
"Works continue to ramp up with ongoing utility installation on site as well as construction on the [Oceanfront Presentation Centre and Public House] PCPH, adjacent to the park. PCPH will house the Oceanfront Squamish sales center as well as a public house/brewery."
