Several models of space heaters sold in the tens of thousands online in Canada have been recalled due to fire hazard.

The recall involved the GoveeLife and Govee smart electric space heaters with model numbers H7130, H7130101, H7131, H7132, H7133, H7134 and H7135.

More than 48,000 of them were sold in Canada through amazon.ca from October 2021 through May 2024. Over a half a million were sold in the U.S.

“The products can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards,” said the recall notice.

As of Oct. 28, the company has received seven reports of overheating in Canada, and no report of injuries. In the United States, the company has received 106 reports of overheating and one report of a minor burn injury.
