Britannia water plant breaks ground

Sustainable Resources Minister George Abbott and Dr. Steve Stanley, president of EPCOR Water Services, were in Britannia March 3 to officially break ground on the Britannia water treatment plant. The new water treatment plant at the old Britannia Mine site will remove contaminants from the water flowing out of the mine works.

Hwy. 99 update

From March 13 to 19 between Sunset Beach and Lions Bay, 30 minutes delays will occur Monday to Friday from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Site and clearing excavation will cause 30-minute delays Monday to Friday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Expect 15 minute delays 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday and for the rest of the week between 9 and 10 a.m., 2 to 4 p.m. and 8 to 10 p.m. Delays at all other times will be limited to five minutes.

MP joins TLC board

West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky MP John Reynolds has been added to the board of Vancouver-based mining company TLC Ventures, according to a report in Business in Vancouver Tuesday (March 8).

The Conservative MP and former Opposition House Leader announced in January his intention not to run again in the next federal election.
