Squamish Fire Rescue and BC Wildfire Service crews have contained the Debeck’s Hill wildfire, which started on Monday afternoon, according to a post by the local fire department.

Last night, crews worked to eliminate the remaining brush fire hot spots at Highway 99 and Depot Road.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by BC Wildfire Service and Natural Resources Officers.

"Squamish Fire Rescue would like to take this opportunity to remind the public that campfires are only allowed under permit on residential private property within the District of Squamish boundaries when conditions are safe to do so," the post reads.

Apply for a permit on the District's website.
