Cap College faculty hold strike vote

Briefs

Capilano College Faculty Association voted 79 per cent in favour of strike action in a vote Monday (March 7).

Two hundred seventy-nine instructors from the Squamish, North Shore and Sechelt campuses took part in the vote. Instructors are asking for a three-year term that will resolve outstanding issues including the rights of faculty to return to work at the end of maternity leave, and matters of equity, fairness and educational quality.

The association has not proceeded with the legally mandated 72-hour strike notice.
