It is that time of year again in Squamish.

RCMP are once again reminding folks not to leave dogs in hot cars. This was a common refrain last summer as well.

On Thursday, May 20, Squamish RCMP received two separate complaints of dogs in distress in hot cars, a police news release states.

RCMP and bylaw officers measured the cars' internal temperatures at 31 and 30 degrees, respectively.

"Too hot for dogs to be inside for any period of time, even with windows rolled down. Police remind dog owners to leave their dogs at home, take dogs into stores that are dog-friendly, or have someone look after their dogs on warmer days rather than leaving them in cars," reads the release.
