The 4th Annual All Free Family Celebration at Brennan Park is ready to hosts hundreds of Squamish residents who want to have fun and games.
Hosted by The Hotspot and Communities that Care, this completely cost-free wild and energetic indoor family fair was attended by up to 700 people last year.
"I think this year will be just as big, if not bigger," said Dana-Marie Battaglia, the activities co-ordinator of the event. "The aim is to bring everyone together, to remind families how much fun it is just spending time with each other."
The event includes a variety of fun family games and activities, free swimming and ice skating, live performances, free snacks, and interactive educational booths on health and fitness, safety, family and community, and more.
This year the event is being held on Sunday, February 18th, from 1 p.m. to 4pm. and was moved so that the day could become part of Wild At Art.
Some of the games included: Family Hockey Shoot Out, 3 Legged Race, Duck, Duck Goose, Mini Put, Ping Pong and Crazy Dancing Contests. And, of course, swimming and skating will be free during the afternoon. Battaglia said Squamish Transit has donated a bus and a driver has volunteered take passengers. She added, however, that they would not be stopping at every bus stop in Squamish. The key ones, she said, where the Brackendale Post Office, Highlands Mall, Downtown, Valleycliffe store, and Dentville.
