Updated: he has been found, Squamish RCMP say.

Police are seeking the public's help to find a Squamish man.

Ilya "George" Baschmakow, 92, is a resident of a local hotel.

Employees at the hotel alerted RCMP on May 5 at about 3 p.m. that Baschmakow had not been seen for three days, police said in a news release.

Baschmakow, who commonly goes by George, has been staying at the downtown hotel.

He is described as a white, balding man, with brown eyes. He's 1.6 metres tall — or 5 feet, 3 inches — and walks with a cane.

He has no known family in the area, police say, and they have so far exhausted leads of his whereabouts.

Anyone who spots him or has information on where he could be is asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100.
