PearlSpace has launched its annual Christmas hamper program for the 2023 season.
"This year, the call for support is more pressing than ever, and we seek the generous backing of our community to make a meaningful difference," reads a release from the Sea to Sky-based support organization, which seeks to prevent gender-based violence, and provide support for survivors impacted by violence or abuse.
The Annual Christmas Hamper Program by PearlSpace is described as a heartwarming initiative connecting community donors with families who have benefited from PearlSpace services.
"In the true spirit of giving, the Christmas Hamper Program allows generous individuals to enhance the holiday joy of families facing various challenges," reads the release. "By matching donors with families, PearlSpace aims to fulfill the wish lists of these families, creating a meaningful and anonymous show of generosity within the community."
How It Works:
Support a Family or Make a Monetary Contribution
Participation in the Christmas Hamper Program is open to all who wish to make a difference.
There are two primary ways to get involved:
1 - Support a Family: Donors can be connected with the wish list of an entire family, complete with specific details such as items, sizes, and special requests. Donors then have the opportunity to shop for new items, either wrapping them or leaving them unwrapped. Once ready, donors can drop off the hampers at PearlSpace, where the team will ensure the safe and anonymous delivery to the recipients.
2 - Monetary Contributions: For those who prefer a financial contribution, donors can make a monetary donation to PearlSpace. These funds will be used to purchase items for the hampers or fulfill specific needs identified by the families.
PearlSpace also accepts general donations of commonly needed and appreciated items in gift cards (for groceries or any other store), warm clothing, special Christmas treats, books and games, gas cards and experience gift cards for outings.
To get involved, locals wanting to donate to PearlSpace's hamper program can contact PearlSpace in Squamish at 604-892-5748, or in Whistler/Pemberton at 604-962-8711. PearlSpace can also be contacted via email at [email protected].
"Let's unite as a community to make this holiday season brighter for those in need. Your kindness and generosity will undoubtedly make a lasting impact on the lives of community members."
