Travellers on Hwy. 99 can expect overnight closures of the route 30 kilometres south of Whistler between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. next week. The workers prevent the flow of traffic for anywhere between two and four hours. The first closure begins at 12:01 a.m. Monday (Nov. 21). Through the rest of the week closures begin at 10 p.m. When the highway is open at the northern construction zone, drivers should expect delays of between 15 and 30 minutes.
Between Squamish and Lions Bay, travellers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. There is a new construction marshalling area in the Furry Creek area.
Crews continue to work between Lions Bay and Horseshoe Bay. Delays of up to 30 minutes can be expected in that stretch of the highway.
All highway delays end on Fridays at noon and there are scheduled delays over the weekend.
Construction speed zones are in effect in a number of places along the route so note the speed limit and remember that speeding fines double in construction zones.
