Squamish RCMP arrested an American amid allegations of failing to stop and violating the Immigration Act.
On Oct. 30 at about 10:10 p.m., officers saw a vehicle known to police with U.S. plates on Cleveland Avenue.
Police say officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver didn’t stop immediately.
Officers say the owner of the vehicle was a U.S. citizen who already had multiple contacts with Squamish RCMP and was deemed an overstay by the Canada Border Services Agency.
The male was later turned over to the CBSA for an assessment on his return to the U.S.
