Squamish is wildfire free, as of July 28, says BC Wildfire Service.
For the first time in over a week, there are no wildfires in the Squamish area.

BC Wildfire Service information officer Dorthe Jacobsen said on July 28 that the Upper Pitt #3 was officially out.

The fire was burning east of Mamquam Mountain and was one of four fires that were in that general area over the course of the last week.

On Tuesday, an initial attack crew of three to four firefighters was working on dousing the flames.

So far, the Squamish area has seen six wildfires this season.

Meanwhile, there have been 799 wildfires burning in the province since April 1, with 223 of them still considered active.
