The trains will be steaming and puffing their way along the tracks just like in the old days, but there's a catch.
These trains are little mini trains built and driven by grown-up men, who come every year with their expensive hobby in tow, and all just to have a little fun on the tracks.
More than a dozen mini-locomotives will be riding the 2.5 km of track at the West Coast Heritage Park's Mini Rail Days, taking kids and families along for the ride.
"It's an annual get-together for mini-train enthusiasts," said WCRHP employee Donna Fourchalk. "Kids can take rides on the trains, and everyone always has a great time. It's great fun for all ages."
The mini rail has become one of the most popular features at the park, carrying a huge number of people along its tracks. During the Day out with Thomas event, a total of 11,000 guests rode the mini train.
There are five steam trains and eight electric trains scheduled to appear.
The event is set for Sunday (Aug. 15), from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
