37-year-old male falls 20 feet to his death at Garden Centre

A 37-year-old Squamish man is dead after falling 20 feet off the roof at the Garden Centre on Mamquam Road on Saturday (Feb. 4) afternoon.

Cpl. Rose of the Squamish RCMP confirmed that the man passed away after being airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital (VGH).

According to Tom St-Laurent, the on-duty superintendent from the B.C. Ambulance Service, a call was received at 12:30 p.m. with the helicopter touching down in Squamish at 1:11 p.m. and arriving at VGH at 1:51 p.m.

Rose added that the matter is still under investigation by both Worksafe B.C. and the B.C. Coroner's Service into what contributed to the man's death.
