Sea to Sky Community Services (SSCS) this week expanded its support services in Whistler with the opening of the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation Social Services Centre.
The new location - a collaborative effort involving SSCC, the foundation, Whistler Community Services, the Howe Sound Women's Centre and Zero Ceiling -will provide counselling services for women surviving abuse, counseling services for children who have experienced issues regarding sexual abuse, an infant development program, physiotherapy services for children up to five years old and other services. Beginning in April, an employment program will be offered at the centre.
"We're pleased to have been able to work with other agencies in the area to create this fabulous new site," Lois Wynne, the society's executive director, said in a statement. "The fact many services are under one roof should make it easier for community members to get the help they need. We encourage people to drop in, call us or visit our website to see how we can support them whether in a crisis or just with everyday challenges."
