Stolen goods cache located by RCMP

News

Members of the RCMP from Squamish and Whistler found stolen computers, bikes, skis, snowboards, home electronics and personal household items when they entered a home on Third Avenue in Squamish on March 2.

Cpl. Dave Ritchie of the Squamish RCMP said members from the two communities worked together to get a search warrant for the home in the 38000 block between Victoria and Winnipeg Streets.

The suspect residence became known to the police after a rash of break and enters in Squamish and Whistler and the recovery of a stolen vehicle also played a key role in leading police to the home.

Charges are expected once the police complete their investigation. The RCMP is also trying to identify the owners of the stolen goods.

Cpl. Ritchie said the 24-year-old man from Brackendale behind the wheel of the Toyota was taken to hospital and released after treatment. Ritchie said the man received two traffic tickets.
