Volunteers needed for Day Out With Thomas event

Community

How would you like to be part of the group of volunteers that welcomes and assists one of the largest events in the Squamish community?

The West Coast Railway Heritage Park is looking for volunteers to help with our Day Out With Thomas event, scheduled for June 10, 11, 12 and June 17, 18, 19.

This is a great opportunity as we expect to welcome around 3,000 people each of the six days to the event, and to Squamish. As we discovered last year, our event guests came from all over Western Canada and the U.S., and most had never been to - or stopped off at Squamish.

The event not only brought these visitors to the Heritage Park, it also saw them visit restaurants and shops and discover our community.

Day Out With Thomas is a volunteer run event that not only provides a unique event experience, but also raises funds for the continued development of the West Coast Railway Heritage Park.

This year's event is going to help us put a new roof on our carshop building and provide several upgrades to aid the repair work to the Royal Hudson.

How can you help? Consider joining our volunteer team - we typically have 50 volunteers each day that the Day Out With Thomas event runs. There's lots of variety available - from acting as a guide to our guests to help them find their way to working with the children in Imagination Station. We need parking lot attendants, people to help in the merchandise tent, greeters and more. And - volunteers do get a free lunch!Interested? Then just give us a call at 604-898-9336, drop by the station at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park, or e mail [email protected].

We'd love to have you and we need your assistance - at the same time you can help put on a great show on behalf of Squamish as we welcome our guests.
