Work on the Squamish Spit has begun. Local John Buchanan captured video of the work to separate the windsports launching tip from the rest of the Spit from Jan. 25 to Feb. 4.
On Jan. 25, the Squamish River Watershed Society announced they secured the Water Sustainability Act permit, which was the last approval needed to start dismantling the structure, which conservationists, including Buchanan, have long said impedes fish.
