Water-main break affects Brackendale

DOS crews hope to have problem fixed by day's end

District of Squamish (DOS) crews were working on Tuesday (March 1) to fix a water main that broke overnight, affecting Brackendale residents.

Because of the break, Brackendale residents "might experience low water pressure" until the problem is fixed, DOS officials said in a statement. The break was not expected to affect water quality, they said.

"Municipal crews became aware of the break during the night and have been working steadily to repair the water main and minimize the impact to Brackendale residents by using a secondary supply line to Brackendale," officials said.

It was expected that the break, on the west side of Highway 99 near the Garibaldi Springs Golf Course, would be repaired by the end of the day
