Where to celebrate NYE in Squamish this year.

Looking for something to do this New Year's Eve? Well The Squamish Chief has put together a round-up of some of the places you can go to welcome 2025.

The first thing to note is that Squamish does not have an organized fireworks display.

Residents are able to apply for a permit that allows for fireworks to be discharged on private, residential properties between 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 12.30 a.m. on Jan 1.

The permits are free and can be applied for on the District of Squamish website.

For those wanting to see a fireworks show, the nearest event is in Whistler

Now, back to where you can take part of the fun in Squamish.

Brackendale Art Gallery

Bring in the new year at the BAG. Local cover band The Wells will kick off their live entertainment at 9 p.m. and will keep you dancing well into 2025.

Tickets are $65 and include canapes. Get your tickets at eventbrite.

Trickster’s Hideout

It’s all about the Vegas Vibes at Trickster's Hideout.

“Join us on Dec. 31st for a dazzling New Year’s Eve celebration dripping in Vegas-style glamour and excitement!” the website said.

Doors open at 8 p.m. with The Unbranded set to kick off the live music at 9 p.m.

“As the clock strikes 12, Case Of The Mondays and Lav take over and keep the party alive until 3 a.m.

“Complimentary champagne toast at midnight to welcome 2025 in style, or redeem your drink ticket early for one free highball at the bar.”

Tickets are $40 and can be bought on the Trickster's Hideout website.

Chieftain Pool and Pinball

Head to the Chieftain for a night of music and celebration.

Entry is $10, and doors open at 8 p.m. Live music will be provided by DJ Popper Al.

The Watershed Grill

If party vibes aren’t your style, why not enjoy a dinner party instead?

The Watershed Grill is hosting a New Year's dinner with a three-course meal.

For $40 per person—or $65 if you opt for their beef tenderloin main—diners can close out the year and enjoy a free glass of bubbly and tasty food.

Reservations are for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. seatings only and can be secured via calling the restaurant at 604-898-6665.

Howe Sound Brewing

They might not have an event per se, but the popular brewpub is offering all-day happy hour on New Year's Eve.

“Open 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. all day happy hour. 9 p.m. is the new midnight!” reads the Howe Sound Brewing Instagram.

Travel

New Year’s Eve revellers can hop on a Squamish bus for free on Dec. 31.

B.C. Transit announced that local buses will be free for the evening starting at 8 p.m. with an extended weekday schedule. (See more here.)

For those keen to head to Whistler, transit is set to be free all day, compliments of the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
