Netting 231 points over the course of his most recent World Cup downhill season, Dane Jewett finished fourth in overall rankings among junior men. He was a mere eight points away from tying Asa Vermette (239) of the United States for third.
Max Alran (332) clinched top honours, with Luke Wayman a somewhat distant second (246).
"Stoked to finish the season strong and healthy with another top 5," Jewett wrote on social media after his last race in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Que. "Really wanted another podium but just fell short. Very happy with how my season and my riding has progressed throughout the year with also checking off most of my goals. Keen to get into the off season and get working for next year."
Finn Iles likewise put together a robust campaign (1152) to place fifth overall in elite standings. Yet he and all of his peers found themselves chasing Loic Bruni, the 30-year-old phenom who rolled to his fourth career season title (1651).
Troy Brosnan secured the runner-up hole (1317) and Amaury Pierron joined his fellow Frenchman Bruni in the top three (1302).
Few were surprised to watch Valentina Höll (1849) pull off the double-double: overall and World Championship wins in back-to-back years. Marine Cabirou (1431) did well to place second overall as Tahnee Seagrave battled to third (1411).
Gracey Hemstreet was the highest-ranked Canadian elite woman in 16th (240). The Sechelt native raced to fourth at Worlds in Pal Arinsal, Andorra.
Erice van Leuven, who also struck gold at Crankworx Whistler's Whip-Off, took care of business as the World Cup's best junior female downhiller (350).
