Person in crisis talked out of jumping off bridge
An off-duty RCMP officer and a District of Squamish employee talked a person who had expressed suicidal thoughts out of jumping off a bridge on Government Road on June 8.
They called for assistance from an on-duty officer.
Both remained with the person until help arrived.
The person was provided with help from Vancouver Coastal Health.

Lamborghini impounded
Squamish RCMP stopped a Lamborghini on Highway 99 by Porteau Cove travelling 130 kilometres per hour in a 80-kilometre zone on June 3.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver was given a violation ticket.
Thieves target vehicles
Squamish RCMP say they received 12 calls for theft from vehicles throughout town between June 2 and June 8. Officers say one of the calls was even in a secure parking garage.
Police say this number is likely higher, as people may not report the offence, or not notice that items are missing.
Officers say the thefts occur overnight when individuals are walking around residential areas and checking car door handles to see if the vehicle is unlocked.
The unlocked vehicles are then riffled through and items are stolen.
Police asking people to remove all valuables from their vehicles and to ensure that vehicles are locked. These investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Squamish RCMP.
Found ring
Police found a ring in Brackendale on June 3.
It will be held for 90 days unless claimed.

Racoons at Alice Lake
Police were called in after a bear was reported outside a tent at the Alice Lake campground.
However, when RCMP and Conservation officers showed up, they found raccoons were enjoying an early breakfast on food that the campers had left out.
RCMP say wildlife is active in our community and wildlife attractants need to be secured in an appropriate manner.
