I hoped, when I read the two Letters to the Editor, Woodfibre Responds to Criticism (Oct. 11, by Woodfibre LNG) and For LNG (Nov. 1, by BC LNG Alliance), that they would include a justification for fracking.
Also missing from both letters was an argument for building fossil-fuel infrastructure in light of the most recent data from the International Panel on Climate Change.
As published in the New York Times: “The report paints a far more dire picture of the immediate consequences of climate change than previously thought, and said that avoiding the damage requires transforming the world economy at a speed and scale that has no documented historic precedent.”
Finally, I wish Woodfibre LNG would stop calling us “activists,” as though it were some dark hobby. We are citizens.
