I am absolutely gobsmacked that there may not be a Santa Parade in Squamish this year. For the Chamber to leave it so late before letting anyone else know is downright stupid.
The parade was started about 10 years ago by the Chieftain Centre merchants with my help. Then when they pulled out, I did it myself.
It was never intended to be a Chieftain, Chamber or Downtown Merchants parade... it was and surely must be for the kids. I know that lots of kids in town go to malls to meet Santa but for some families this is not possible.
So I sincerely hope that someone with some community spirit and some real common sense takes over the task. It may be a littlelate, but if I can be of any help please pass on my email address, [email protected].
Come on Squamish, it's for the kids.
