Field, skills park supported

EDITOR,Giving the Legacy Fund money to build a Nordic Park is the silliest idea imaginable. I think that the money should go to refurbish the gravel fields and a mountain skills park.

Yes, we have several soccer fields, but they are not useable year-round with our rainy climate and all-weather fields would greatly improve being able to play soccer in Squamish. It is quite an inexpensive sport that adults and children enjoy regardless of income. My son and I sometimes go to Whistler to bike at their free skills parks; we also bike to the Squamish BMX track and have fun together and I always see parents and their children cruise around on it. A mountain bike skills park would be for everyone who owns a bike! Why not expand and build trails up the hill with a shuttle bus so that it would bring income to Squamish with out-of-towners coming here to use the park. It could be a mini-version of Whistler.Karin BuchananGaribaldi Highlands
