Please accept this letter of support for the planned Sea to Sky Gondola Project.
Thank you for you presentation to the Tourism Squamish Board of Directors on Aug. 2, 2011.
The Board of Directors unanimously voted to support, in principle, the planned project as presented to them and very much look forward to the successful completion of the next stages of the project process.
As the community destination marketing organization (DMO) for Squamish, our goal in the broadest sense is to increase tourism to Squamish and build awareness of Squamish as a tourist destination.
As representatives of our organization we believe the proposed Sea to Sky Gondola can add great value to the tourism product offerings within the community, potentially increasing the profile of the community as a destination, as well as increasing annual visitation and overnight stays within the community.
We look forward to the next stages in the development of the project.
