Lasting legacy?

Just read your letter in the Chief.

It is encouraging to see that you did not mention your pet project to borrow another $5 million on top of the $9 million you already borrowed, in order for you to build a small park at the south end of the SODClands.

As I recall, this was a very high priority for you this time last year.

Did you figure out to abandon this reckless spending on your own, or did the Municipal Finance Authority give you the wake-up call?

Either way, you will go down as one of the councillors who turned down the opportunity for a free, fully developed 105-acre park in the heart of the city.

That will be your lasting legacy to the people of Squamish.
