Re: “Elk killed near Squamish,” March 25. The herd of eight elk re-introduced in 2011 to the Mamquam River watershed has been decimated by 50 per cent due to fatal collisions with cars near the Adventure Centre, according to information provided to The Squamish Chief.
Perhaps it’s time the municipality considered an Elk Crossing traffic sign?
These signs are believed to help prevent accidents and collisions by reminding drivers to stay alert.
