LETTER: Hilltop cares

I would like to add my voice of positive support to Hilltop House and its staff. My wife’s valiant struggle against Parkinson’s unfortunately finally required her to be cared for at Hilltop for two years.

I would like to add my voice of positive support to Hilltop House and its staff. My wife’s valiant struggle against Parkinson’s unfortunately finally required her to be cared for at Hilltop for two years. I have great praise for the facility and all the people who work there. The building is warm, pleasant, and attractive. I have found the staff to be exceptionally warm and caring in all my dealings with them, and in the care they provide for my wife. This goes both for the daily nursing care as well as for the activities staff that provides a variety of spirited programs on a daily basis for the residents.

I realize that, like many such facilities, they are often short-staffed. But they consistently show warmth and compassion in their work and are responsive whenever I mention something that might have been overlooked.
We are lucky to have such a facility in Squamish. It deserves our thanks and support.
