Letter: Sea to Sky Highway nightmare

'Thankfully, hover cars will save us all.'
Sea to Sky highway -- Highway 99
How is it that no one has not foreseen the absolute nightmare that is awaiting us with massive increased traffic on the Sea-to-Sky?

The SLRD and District of Squamish have failed immeasurably on approving developments like Tiger Bay and multiple ones in Squamish.

How have they failed?

Traffic.

Highway 99.

How is it that no one has not foreseen the absolute nightmare that is awaiting us with massive increased traffic on the Sea-to-Sky?

The excuse that the highway is the provincial government’s responsibility is just that.

Real local leadership would be looking to force the provincial and federal governments to look at options, especially in the light of the “green” agenda.

We have the infrastructure for a rail commuter solution, yet all local governments care about is development cost charges (DCCs) that benefit themselves without thinking of the greater area’s impacted.

Thankfully, hover cars will save us all.
