Signs not appreciated

EDITOR,I am appalled at the large pro-HST signs that have been on display for weeks in the windows of the publicly owned Adventure Centre.

EDITOR,I am appalled at the large pro-HST signs that have been on display for weeks in the windows of the publicly owned Adventure Centre. This letter is not pro- or anti-HST; rather it is to point out that when the Adventure Centre was built with Squamish taxpayer money, it was supposed to be "The Catcher's Mitt of the Sea to Sky" to promote Squamish and the events and activities of Squamish.

If the Chamber wants to post signs in the window promoting a Santa Claus Parade or Squamish Days, etc., I am all for it. But don't tell us how to vote. If the HST signs are permitted, then what's next? Maybe during the next provincial election they would like to tell us which party to vote for. The building may start to look more like B.C. Liberal Party headquarters than a tourist info centre.

The purpose of the building that we are all still paying to maintain is to promote Squamish, not to sway public opinion. Take down those signs.Jess LaFramboiseGaribaldi Highlands
