Vision for Nexen

The matter of utilizing the Nexen lands is an ongoing issue that does require a lot of input from the community. My suggestion is that there should be a building complex design for indoor and outdoor usage.

The matter of utilizing the Nexen lands is an ongoing issue that does require a lot of input from the community.

My suggestion is that there should be a building complex design for indoor and outdoor usage. The inside could be used for the various community clubs from Boy Scouts and Girl Guides to the various charity clubs, the Lions, Rotary etc.

The building could be used also for the RCMP drills as well as the pipe band and other organizations desiring accommodation that does not bother neighbours.

My vision as I work in the engineering and architectural field is a building complex that could also be used as a home for the Farmers Market.

The market could be permanently staged around the semi-covered outside perimeter of the building. The same complex could also host events like the Show and Shine as well as indoor and outdoor concerts, possibly even a future site for Logger Sports on the outside adjacent grounds.

Imagine a beautiful new Cenotaph at the front of the building complex in a park like setting. We desperately need a new one.

Ideally the Royal Hudson vintage train could encircle the building complex grounds letting off tourist who could wander the various boutiques and exhibits within or around the complex as well as to a nearby new marina.

This could also be the new area of celebration for Canada Day events.

Imagine all those tourist getting off the Royal Hudson to see the Logger Sports and the Farmers Market and how it would draw a new vitality to the downtown core area.
