The president of Mosaic Forest Management on Vancouver Island is stepping down, and will be replaced by veteran forestry company executive Duncan Davies.

Mosaic CEO Robert Gough is retiring, Mosaic said in a news release.

Mosaic manages the privately owned timberlands of TimberWest and Island Timberlands on Vancouver Island.

Davies will replace Gough as CEO. Davies served as CEO of Interfor (TSX:IFP) for nearly two decades, before retiring in 2019.

After Interfor, Davies served as a board member and CEO of Pinnacle Renewable Energy, and as chairman of Resolute Forest Products. Davies also currently serves as vice-chairman of the Binational Softwood Lumber Council.

“Robert has played a critical role in the growth of Mosaic in his prior role as chief operating officer and as well as chief executive officer,” said Mosaic chairman Jake Kerr.

“We thank him for all of his dedication and service to the company. We now welcome Duncan, who has a track record of success and is well-known and respected throughout the industry by government, First Nations and community leaders.

“Duncan has the experience, skills and relationships to lead Mosaic in the next phase of its growth.”
