Some flights could be delayed due to the fog.

NavCan and YVR are cautioning travellers that some flights are being affected by the fog at Vancouver International Airport.

They encourage travellers to check their flight status with their airlines.

The airport is seeing delays out of the main terminal as well as some cancellations to regional flights at the South Terminal, YVR told the Richmond News.

"Heavy fog is present across the Lower Mainland, and is impacting flights at YVR," the airport authority posted on X.

"Teams are working to move people and planes safely and as quickly as possible. Please check the status of your flight directly with your airline before coming to the airport."

According to Environment Canada, the fog is expected to persist until about noon on Thursday.
