How did you know they were the one? The Squamish Chief will be running an exciting Valentine's contest that will engage our readers throughout the Squamish Valley.

It was the flood of 1980-’81 that implemented the construction of the numerous dikes along many of the rivers in Squamish.

We happily arrived at Porteau Cove with our two-year-old ready for a long-awaited long weekend camping trip. Only there was no reservation. Turned out l booked Porpoise Bay and of course, there were no spots available.

One week ago (April 2014) my partner, baby and pug moved to Squamish, and it already feels like home. We can't wait to grow old here, please let me tell you why... I've always thought that there is something special about the Squamish air.

I first came to Squamish from Australia in July 2001 on a climbing trip, and never left. I fell in love with the forests and mountains, the easy access to trails right outside our front door, and the numerous recreational activities available here.

Coming up “The Cut” in North Vancouver there is a sign that reads “Squamish 64 km." To most people, this sign is just another traffic sign but to me, an ultra-marathon runner, it means adventure.
