Family Day, it’s the first public holiday of 2025 and it's all about spending time with those nearest and dearest.
But you might be wondering where exactly to spend that time. The good news is The Squamish Chief has put together a round-up of events and specials to help you have a great day (and long weekend) with the fam!
Sea to Sky Gondola
Families looking for a fun-filled winter adventure this Family Day weekend might first want to make their way upwards. And by up, we mean up the Sea to Sky Gondola.
“From Feb. 15 to 17, guests are invited to celebrate the long weekend with outdoor activities, live music, delicious treats, and exclusive discounts—making it the perfect opportunity to create lasting family memories,” reads a Sea to Sky Gondola news release.
“The weekend kicks off with a family-friendly Scavenger Hunt along the Spirit Trail, where participants can explore the summit while searching for hidden treasures. After completing the hunt, a special surprise awaits!
“For those eager to embrace the snow, the weekend offers a variety of outdoor activities, including free tubing all weekend long, with the Sea to Sky Gondola donating $5 per ticket to Squamish Search and Rescue.”
Throughout the weekend, families can also enjoy a spot of snowshoeing, hiking and ice skating or an afternoon of relaxation by the outdoor fire at the Backyard Plaza.
Passholders also get 40% off all retail items on Family Day.
Trickster’s Hideout
On Feb. 16, Trickster’s Hideout is hosting an all-ages party.
DJ Steintology will be setting the vibes from 6 to 9 p.m. with a $10 entry fee.
Those under the age of 19 must be accompanied by an adult.
Tiny Tots Gym
Looking for something fun to do with the little ones on Family Day itself? Tiny Tots Gym is putting on a fun-filled morning on Feb. 17 filled with face painting, balloon animals, a bouncy castle and more.
Entry is $12 per child, and the event runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Hot Chocolate Festival
Back for its fifth year, the festival showcases hot chocolatey goodness from a number of venues across Squamish, making it the perfect thing to do with friends or family (or on a solo date) this Family Day long weekend.
The list of 25 establishments taking part in this year's Hot Chocolate Festival and their respective menus can be found on the Tourism Squamish website.
