Things to do:

Trickster’s

Do you prefer to celebrate love day with a bit of arts and craft—how about trying a paint and sip night at Trickster’s Hideout.

“Join us for Paint Your Partner, a fun and creative evening of sipping and painting! Hosted by the talented Theresa Columbus, this event invites you to create personal portraits of each other in a relaxed and lively atmosphere,” their Facebook post reads.

But it doesn’t just have to be a date night for couples; bring a friend, galentine or anyone who enjoys a bit of fun.

“No artistic experience needed—just bring your creativity and sense of fun!” they wrote.

The event runs from 7 to 8 p.m. and costs $25 per person (which includes a glass of wine).

Space is limited, so grab your tickets via the Trickster’s Hideout website.

Following the Paint and Sip event, Trickster’s is also hosting Basic B*tch Love, an event tailored for those who want to dance their booties off all night.

“Calling all basic b*tches and Valentine’s enthusiasts! This Y2K-inspired soirée is your chance to revel in the ultimate celebration of love, sass, and sparkle,” reads their Facebook event.

From 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. DJ Opal will be filling the night with iconic anthems to keep everyone “dancing and feeling the love all night long.”

The dress code, as expected, is “extra … think pinks, reds and whites, rhinestones, glitter and butterfly clips.”

“Whether you’re flying solo, boo’d up, or just here for the vibe, this is your night to sip, slay, and party like you’re the star of your own rom-com,” they said.

Early bird tickets can be bought via the Trickster's Hideout website for $5, with general admission costing $10.

Create Makerspace

Another place to get your craft on this love day is Create Makerspace at their Valentine’s Pottery Paint and Sip.

“Whether you’re coupled up, celebrating with friends, or treating yourself, join us for an evening of pottery painting and creativity!” their website reads.

“Bring your partner (or your bestie, we celebrate all forms of love here!) for a relaxed, lively night of art and laughter. You’ll get to choose from a selection of ceramic bisques—mugs, plates and bowls—to paint your own masterpiece.

“No experience? No problem! Our friendly host will guide you through the process, and we’ll take care of all the glazing and firing so your piece is ready to shine.”

Tickets cost $50 per person and include paint, tools, glazing, firing and a complimentary glass of wine.

Their website also notes that ceramic pieces are priced individually and paid for on the day.

Sunflower Bakery and Cafe and Fleurescent Blooms

Teaming up together for a one-day-only special, Sunflower Bakery and Cafe and Fleurescent Blooms have created Cupid’s Coffee Caddy.

“For the valentine who wants it ALL—a hot coffee, a sweet treat, and some fresh fleurs to seal the deal,” the joint Instagram post reads.

The trio includes your favourite coffee of any size, a beautiful bud vase of flowers and a doughnut of your choice.

“Limited quantities, so get there early to snag this cutie for your sweetie (or, let’s be real… for you)” reads the post.

“Because nothing says I love you like caffeine, carbs, and a little floral flair.”

At the time of writing this story, no price has been shared for the Cupid’s Coffee Caddy.

Hot Chocolate Festival

Back for its fifth year, the festival showcases hot chocolatey goodness from a number of venues across Squamish, making it the perfect thing to do with friends or family (or on a solo date) this Valentine’s Day.

The list of 25 establishments taking part in this year's Hot Chocolate Festival and their respective menus can be found on the Tourism Squamish website.
